This page provides a list of the FHIR artifacts defined as part of this implementation guide.
The following artifacts define the specific capabilities that different types of systems are expected to have in order to comply with this implementation guide. Systems conforming to this implementation guide are expected to declare conformance to one or more of the following capability statements.

Defines what a conformant PSGC-capable FHIR terminology server SHALL and SHOULD support. |
These are custom operations that can be supported by and/or invoked by systems conforming to this implementation guide.
| Expand PSGC (full-text search) |
Search PSGC area names using full-text matching. Returns a ValueSet expansion. |
| Geographic Hierarchy |
Resolve the full geographic ancestry path for a PSGC code — from region down to the code's own level. |
| Geographic Lookup |
Find PSGC codes by parent code prefix and/or geographic level. Exploits the positional encoding of the 10-digit PSGC code. |
| Resolve PSGC from Coordinates |
Reverse geocoding: resolve latitude/longitude to the PSGC code hierarchy via point-in-polygon spatial query. |
These define data models that represent the domain covered by this implementation guide in more business-friendly terms than the underlying FHIR resources.
| PSGC Publication Entry |
A single row in the PSA PSGC Publication Datafile. Two XLSX layouts exist (modern Q1 2022+ and legacy pre-2022). Legacy 9-digit codes are normalised to 10 digits by appending a trailing zero. |
| PSGC Quarterly Release |
A quarterly snapshot of the full PSGC dataset as published by PSA. Each release is authoritative from its effective date until superseded. Version identifier pattern: Q{1-4}_{year} (e.g. Q1_2026). |
